This set of images are vessels commemorative of my personal life.

“Scholars Wed” honors my son’s engagement in graduate school to his Chinese girlfriend. The forms are based on Scholars Cups from the Song dynasty.

“Sip” was made in the Pandemic, when my husband and I realized our vulnerability. In “Sip,” the letters T I M E L E S S are impressed around the lip of a chalice in even increments. They can be read “less time” or “timeless.”

“Hammer” was made for a dear friend who has helped me repeatedly with art installations.

“Mitre Love Be True” shows a loved one’s heart path. A blue line traces from a masculine symbol (miter) to a feminine symbol (fortune cookie) to a mended heart. The saucer shows a decade long knot puzzle recently solved. Next >
