“Plato’s Mighty Big Pot”  at my solo show “the meaning of things” at Skagit Valley College, and at Green River College.

Plato’s Mighty Big Pot

On the gallery window, a shadow of a pot is rear-projected onto a six foot piece of rice paper. Clay slip is swirled around that image.

This large-than-life image was meant to anchor a show of small objects.

It’s a depiction of Socrates’ Cave Myth, where human beings can only see shadows of perfect form.  It was my show’s" caveat :

“You’re not going to see perfect form here— just my best approximations.”
