Canopic Vessels
When I was making these vessels, I found myself thinking ”Egyptian funerary jars.” I wondered, “What does that even mean?” A google search revealed that the Egyptians stored the internal organs of mummies in Canopic Jars.
I call my vessels “Canopic Vessels” because they are decorated with my basic design shapes — the guts of my work.
