Between the opening of “the meaning of things” at Skagit Valley College in April, 2001 and it’s showing at Green River College in November 2001, America started the Iraq War.
I felt any show titled “the meaning of things” had better acknowledge the war. I used a break glass in case of emergency format: a wall mounted box, with a camouflage jacket and camo vessel.
My question: in something as horrific as war, what kind of role can Art play? Is Art lost or is it subsumed in the war effort?
