Lady cups: high fire porcelain with low-fire line decoration. “Left & Right” was included in 500 Cups (Lark Books.) “Narrative” was featured in Ceramics Monthly.

Lady Cups

Lady cups have a scalloped edge for decoration and a straight edge for drinking. When a handle is added, the cup becomes either a left-handed or right handed cup. In “Left & Right”, matching profiles face each other —quoting the classic illusion of profiles creating a vase image.

Other Lady Cup pairs show my penchant for informational images as a surface treatment.
